EO 2009 Running Blog - Eric
Tuesday 9am: About 200 runs from Large Stand and Large Jumpers is now online in VOD Saturday. Small and Medium will go up and we get home tomorrow.
Monday 5pm: Closing Ceremony is online.
Monday 11:30am Some pictures we tooks are online.
Monday 11:00am Medium Dog Finals is online.
Monday 8:00am Large Dog Finals is online. Find it in "my videos". I think we are going to change hotels today. Hoping that we can get better internet elsewhere.
Sunday 10:00pm Small Dog Finals is finally online. That is the first video posted. It's taking 4 hours to upload a 45 minute video. I'll start large dog final next. Thank you for your patience.
Sunday 2:30pm Uploading the Small Dog Finals right now. Says it will take about 3.5 more hours. After that I'll upload large dogs final. Which will probably take another 4 hours to upload. Sorry this is taking so long to get online. Thank you for your patience.
Sunday 6:45am: The last day is the Team Event. It should end around 4pm. And then I can get back and start getting videos online.
Saturday 11:50pm: Okay the finals ended at 8pm tonight. Dinner took two hours and I'm finally back at the hotel at 11pm. I'm going to post a video of the 3 winners from the Finals before going to bed. I have about 7 hours of video, but it still needs to be captured from tape and then encoded. Not going to happen tonight. I know you are dying to see the videos, but hopefully this short video of the winners will keep you satisfied for the moment.
Saturday 6am: I fixed a problem with access control. Just put up the newly higher bitrate encoded videos of opening ceremony, Team USA practice and general practice in the free video. They start running here at 8am, I'm going to try to go back an forth to the hotel as I have breaks today and start processing video. It is walk/run, walk / run all day. So if walk throughs are long enough I can drive back to the hotel. We will see. Please tell your friends about the event, as most people don't know about it.
10:50pm: I used a much lower bitrate than normal because of the piss poor internet here. So I just checked out the videos. Wow they really suck. So I'm reencoding them now and will upload them when I can. Sorry about that, I estimate the internet is about 9-10 times slower than what I have at home. Oh well what can I do?
10:30pm: The opeing ceremony video is now online for people that bought the everything package. I also put the first two minutes as a free video.
5:45pm Friday: 30 minute Team USA practice video is online. Getting ready to head on over for Opening Ceramony.
5:00pm Friday: The opening ceremony is 6:30-7:30 tonight. I'll be filming that and get it online tonight. I'm still working on the best workflow for this event. It's been raining off an on. So that pretty much keeps me from bringing the laptop to the show. But anyways there should be about 6-8 hours of video for tomorrow and another 6 on Sunday. Plenty of great agility to watch. I'll get it online as soon as I can. The finals tomorrow will have priority. And I may even do a live stream of the finals if it is not raining and I can get this prepaid Tmobile card working. I've posted some free videos. And Team USA practice will be online soon.
8:30am Friday: We are at the Hotel Van der Valk, about half mile from the site. The weather is partly cloudy with some sprinkles.. Perfect weather almost, nice and mild. I feel refreshed after finally sleeping. We took a red eye flight from Boston that left at 10pm and arrived at 11am the next morning. Was not able to sleep on the airplane. But all is well now. After getting breakfast downstairs we will head on over to the agility. First practice starts at 10am with Netherlands and Germany.
The internet hear is not as fast as I was hoping for (only about 250kbs upload), so videos will not get online so quickly. I think I will make lower bitrate videos while we are over here, to get them online. And when we get back upload higher bitrate video.
I will continue to update this page throughout the weekend, as a running "blog" over sorts.
